Jim Nosler

 Singer Songwriter from Austin, Texas

Playing guitar and singing have been at the top of my list of favorite activities for many years. In my teenage years, I learned to play guitar at summer camp. It was almost mandatory, as there was music and singing at meals and campfires every night of the week. This led to a Garage Band phase in high school and beyond, and through a variety of styles and configurations; I have continued to perform either solo or in a group ever since.

My goal in performing today is to share my own music and to honor the great songwriters of our time. My work carries the influences of a wide variety of artists from Bob Dylan to John Hiatt to Pink Floyd, and from Robert Earl Keen to Van Morrison to REM, crossing all of points on the compass from Rock, Folk, Country, and Blues

The cornerstone of my live performances is the blending of these diverse musical styles together with my own compositions is such a way that makes each song my own. I seek to deliver each one convincingly from start to finish delivering the original message and/or emotion of the song.  I play 6 and 12-string acoustic guitars and harmonica. Whether performing solo or with one or more added players, every performance is an honest and energetic delivery of  original songs and covers, blend for a seamless, refreshing and entertaining musical experience.

Listeners commend me for the quality of my singing voice and often express wonder and appreciation at the variety of influences included in a typical set. The harmonica adds a unique texture to the sound that makes the experience memorable. I enjoy meeting people and having the opportunity to entertain and bring generations of people together through the common thread of music. I look forward to playing for you soon.
